The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has issued a public warning against fraudulent “discretionary admission” offers being promoted by unauthorized individuals and groups.
In a statement posted on the university’s website on October 24, 2024, UNILAG noted that admissions are managed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and official university channels.
The university denied authorizing any social media groups or third parties to offer special admission consideration.
The university also emphasized that such offers are fraudulent and warned that both the providers and receivers of these illegal services are subject to legal consequences.
The institution urged the public not to fall victim to these scams, reminding everyone that any admission offers outside the official JAMB process are fake.
The school also encouraged reporting suspicious activities through its official communication channels, which are: communicationunit@unilag.edu.ng or vcoffice@unilag.edu.ng
