UNILAG breaks down fees installment payment plan

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has revealed the procedure for new and returning students to take advantage of the installment option provided to reduce the strain of the newly increased school fees.

For the new students coming into the institution who want to pay in installments, the minimum payment option they will be allowed to pay is 100% of their utility bills. 100% of their toxicology fee and 50% of their obligatory fee.

This means new students in courses without labs/studios will be required to pay: ₦20,000 for utility, ₦10,000 for toxicology, and ₦63,162.50 for their obligatory fees. This will bring their total fee to ₦93,162.50.

Students in courses with labs/studios will be required to pay: ₦20,000 for utility, ₦10,000 for toxicology, and ₦88,150 for their obligatory fees. This brings their total fee to ₦118,150.

As for returning undergraduates who want to take advantage of the installment option, the minimum payment option allowed will be to pay 100% of their utility fee and 50% of their obligatory fee.

This means returning students in all courses will be required to pay ₦20,000 as a utility fee, while their obligatory fees will be: ₦50,375 for students in courses without lab/studio, ₦70,125 for students in courses with labs/ studios and ₦95,125 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.

This will bring their total fee to: ₦70,375 for students in courses without lab/studio, ₦90,125 for students in courses with labs/studio, and ₦115,125 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.

Students are then required by the university to pay 20% of the school fees balance before the printing of their 1st-semester examination dockets.

So, the 20% balance for new students will be will be: ₦25,265 for students in courses without labs/studios and ₦35,260 for students in courses with labs/studios.

The 20% balance for returning students will be: ₦20,150 for students in courses without labs/studios, ₦28,050 for students in courses with labs/studios, and ₦38,050 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.

Lastly, students are required to pay the final 30% balance of their fees before the end of registration for the 2nd semester.

So, the 30% for new students will be: ₦37,897.50 for students in courses without lab/studio and ₦52,890 for those in courses with labs/ studios.

For final year students, they are all required to pay ₦30,000 as convocation fees and the 30% balance of their school fees, which will be: ₦30,225 for students in courses without lab/studio, ₦42,075 for students in courses with labs/ studios and ₦57,075 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.

This will bring their total to: ₦60,225 for students in courses without lab/studio, ₦72,075 for students in courses with labs/studios, and ₦87,075 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.

Other returning students, are required to pay: ₦30,225 for students in courses without lab/studio, ₦42,075 for students in courses with labs/studios, and ₦57,075 for medical students and students in pharmacy and health professions.
