Infrastructure devpt, quality housing a joint effort – Prof. Omirin

Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Prof. Omirin Modupe, has asserted that environmental ,infrastructural development and the provision of quality adequate housing projects should be a joint effort between the government, school and private individuals.

She stated this while commenting on possible solutions to the problems of housing in tertiary education and the country in general.

According to the Prof. of estate management, it takes government policies, funding from the government and non –governmental organization inputs to build and improve housing facilities for students, staff on campus and outside the campus

Prof. Modupe cited the establishment of the UK Research and Innovation Center (UKRI) and the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) partnership. 

‘These organisations have joined forces to use their collective knowledge , skills and regional expertise to tackle global challenges such as extreme poverty and diseases, infrastructural development  and housing.’, she said.

From the perspective of her point of view, she believes that environmental infrastructural development and provision of quality adequate housing projects should be  a collective efforts between the government, school authorities and private individuals.
