Usman Kammarudeen set to launch martial art programme in UNILAG

Popular wrestler and martial artist, Usman Kammarudeen popularly known as Nigeria Nightmare has revealed his plans to launch a martial arts training programme in the University of Lagos.

He announced this during a visit to the UNILAG sports centre joined by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe in preparation for the NUGA games.

Giving his reasons for the upcoming martial art academy, he described it as a way of giving back to the society through youths who looked up to him.

“It is a pleasure,it only makes sense because this sport is a sport that will be used as a vehicle to not only educate but also to transform and transition the direction of the youth we have in this direction”, he said  adding that women were not left out of the self-defense programme.

Usman Kammarudeen joined the Vice-Chancellor in the inspection of ongoing projects ranging from the basketball court, swimming pool and track field.

Fielding questions with reporters after the inspectiom, the wrestler expressed his dreams to create a platform for youths and children he served as a model to.

He described his partnership with the “Fight for it company” to create the African Knock Out (AKO) reality show as a step in that direction.

The AKO is a reality tv show  that has fourteen middleweight fighters in an enclosed training camp. The show already started and ended it’s first season with the second season in process.
