The president of the association, Osamede Uwabanmwen revealed the purpose of the partnership between town and gown.

He said the aim is to close the gap between perception and reality in the field of marketing, increase the employability of marketing students and promote contemporary and value-driven curricula, joining academic learning with the dynamic needs of the industry.

The association will be having its inaugural edition at the University of Lagos on Thursday.

It will feature prominent industry figures and leaders such as the president of ADVAN, Uwabanmwen; Marketing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, Pladis Global, Dr. Omotola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi and the professor of Marketing and Decision Sciences and Head of the Department of Business Administration, University of Lagos, Bolajoko Nkemdinim Dixton-Ogbechi, as keynote speakers.
