The University of Lagos (UNILAG) prepares to host the 4th African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Biennial International Conference from Wednesday, November 15 to Friday, November 17, 2023.
The theme for the conference is “Reimagining the Future of Higher Education in Africa”. The 3-day Conference will, begin with an opening ceremony on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Tayo Aderinokun Hall, UNILAG, feature plenary sessions and workshops addressing the broad theme stated above.
ARUA, initiated in Dakar, Senegal in March 2015, is a network of 16 universities from different African countries and different historical backgrounds, with a common vision. Its aim is to enhance research and graduate training in member universities through a number of channels, including the setting up of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) hosted by member universities.
Member universities include: University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia; University of Ghana; University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; University of Nairobi, Kenya; Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal; Makerere University, Uganda; University of Rwanda; University of Witwatersrand, South Africa; University of Pretoria, South Africa; Stellenbosch University, South Africa; Rhodes University, South Africa; University of Cape Town, South Africa; University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and University of Mauritius (Associate Member).
