Professor Lucian Chukwu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Management Sciences at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has been announced as the Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibusa, in Delta State. This was made known in a press statement released today by Folasade Boriowo, the spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of Education.
According to Boriowo, this decision was reached after a two-day selection exercise, from February 26th to 27th, conducted by the university’s governing council. “At the end of the exercise, Professor Lucian Chukwu emerged as the highest scorer, with 83.41%, among the five interviewed candidates,” she stated.
The appointment, which became effective on Friday, February 28, 2025, is for a single five-year tenure.
Set to assume office as Vice-Chancellor at Admiralty University, Professor Chukwu is a specialist in Ecotoxicology and Environmental Risk/Impact Assessment Strategies and Integrated Coastal Area Management.
