By Faith Enang

Mariere Hall, University of Lagos

Eligible students of the University of Lagos will ballot for the newly renovated Mariere Hall next week on Monday, 29th April 2024.

According to the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Prof. Musa Obalola, all registered male students of the institution are eligible to reserve accommodation except for extra-year students.

Recall that the hall was commissioned by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola on Monday, April 15, 2024, after eight months of renovation.

At the commissioning ceremony, Prof. Ogunsola touted the project as another ‘product of collaborations with progressive partners and stakeholders’ in the university community.

She appreciated the sponsors, Alpha Morgan Capital Management Limited and Hatcherfield Limited, for their donations and urged students to use the facilities well.

The Vice-Chancellor assured that the newly renovated Mariere Hostel will be allotted to students at no increased cost. She also said renovation works will soon commence at other students’ residence halls including Makama Bida, Eni Njoku and Biobaku.

A statement on how to successfully reserve a space in the hall was disseminated to students from the office of the DSA. It reads thus:
