The President of the Mass Communication Students’ Association, Soremekun Samson Seyifunmi has shared insight into what his fellow students are to expect as they commence their departmental week.
The Public Relations Officer of the Association, Ayomide Adegboro told our reporter that the MCSA event will be held from Monday, the 1st of July to Friday, the 5th of July.
Speaking to our correspondent earlier this morning in a press chat, the president said that he and his team have put together the best event that will surpass every other MCSA week done so far by his predecessors.
“We are making all the events bigger by increasing prices that will be won and also other activities that’ll be featured during the MCSA week”, he said.
He noted that the event will start today with an outstanding Faaji Monday that will feature a cooking competition across all levels, an eating competition, and an award to the best-dressed person at the event.
“This year’s Faaji Monday will be different because we’ve raised the cash prize for winners of every competition, and we also made arrangements for local dishes for MCSAites. So, more people will have delicious food to eat today”, Soremekun said. He also added that raising funds for all the events lined up to commemorate MCSA week has not been a problem as they have been able to secure funding for every other event.
He also noted that next week will be another round of competition for Advertising students who are competing in the department’s ADWAVE competition. He also hinted that after the ADWAVE competition, he and his team will move in fully to start planning for the best Award and Dinner Night that will put his department as the best department in the University of Lagos.
