The Learning Management System (LMS) is has been made to be more robust and seamless for learners use and navigation.
The newly appointed Director of Distance Learning Institute, UNILAG, Professor Risikat Dauda, whose aim is to solidify the adoption of innovative technology, explained in an interview with Unilagsun that her goals are aligned with the four growth pillars as envisioned by the Vice-Chancellor.
The goals which she stated to be “FIRM; F-Financial Engineering; I-Infrastructural Development; R-Reputation Building based on Research, Internationalization, and Innovation; and M-Massive Investment in Manpower Development.” are geared at building capacity for both academic and non-academic staff of the institution by providing visionary and transformational leadership that seeks to promote high level of quality service delivery.
While maintaining the major area of challenge as infrasctural deficit, Dauda emphasized the Vice-Chancellor’s assistance in ensuring the incorporation of formidable structures to foster a culture of efficient and effective administration.
With a commitment to raising the standard of excellence as laid down by the founding fathers, Daoda highlilghted her achievement to be a successful upgrade of the Learning Management System (LMS) alongside the inauguration of DLI Alumni scheduled to commence within the first quarter of the year.
In her words, “This will ease the stress and reduce the time spent by students completing CBT exams without wasting time. DLI Alumni will be inaugurated in the first quarter of the year, and finally, to the glory of God, DLI graduated 2,665 students in the 2021/2022 convocation ceremonies with sixteen first-class honours.”
To avoid losing out on new students, She said “ we are using the concept of leaving no one behind to drive admission through aggressive marketing via traditional media, social media advertisements, and referrals from alumni.”
