UNILAG Rolls Out Registration Process for Direct Entry Students

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has commenced online registration for candidates seeking admission through the Direct Entry (DE) mode, into all undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to a publication issued by the University, the registration began on Wednesday, September 9, and will close on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

It noted that candidates are expected to log on to the university’s application portal at application.unilag.edu.ng

Applicants are expected to “Start New Application” on their portal, select “undergraduate” under “application type,” log in with their DE JAMB Registration Number as “username” and their surname in lowercase as “password.”

Candidates are also advised to make the prescribed payments as indicated on their generated payment advice, upload the required credentials, verify their details, submit the application, and print their application slip.

The University fixed the application fee at N3,500.

UNILAG noted that only candidates who chose the institution as their first choice of institution for the DE application are eligible to apply.

It added that the applicants must also possess five O’level and credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics in one sitting, alongside other qualifications such as JUPEB, OND, HND, NCE, or a bachelor’s degree as uniquely applicable.

The institution stated that only candidates who will be 16 years of age by September 30, 2026, will be considered for admission.

It also advised candidates to ensure that all personal data is consistent across all documents submitted.

The institution said failure to complete the online registration would disqualify candidates from admission chances.

The university also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on drug abuse, adding that the admission of newly admitted students who test positive for drug use may be withdrawn.
