RESEARCH: UNILAG collaborates with London University

In a bid to make the University of Lagos (UNILAG) gain further global visibility and relevance, the school management has decided to explore collaborative research.

This was made known by the institution’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Research, Professor Bola Oboh on Wednesday as he welcomed Professor Caroline Knowles from the Queen Mary University of London.

Professor Bola made it known the University can boast twenty-six Research centres. 

“UNILAG currently boasts of 26 Research Centres across various disciplines, a feat which underscores the university’s keenness on solution-driven research as pivotal to national development”, she explained.

She also disclosed that UNILAG has signed many MOUs with several institutions around the globe. Explaining that these agreements would at the end of the day be of benefit to both staff and students of UNILAG.

Professor Caroline Knowles also assured the institution while speaking at a Policy Interaction Research Workshop that the British Academy is ready to explore new initiatives.

In her statement, the University of Lagos is among the reputable institutions known for research, hence the choice of collaboration. She added that this will also benefit every researcher and their students.

Professor Taibat Lawan of Urban Management and Governance also in the workshop,  applauded the British Academy for the standing relationship with UNILAG, especially through funding of different projects.
