CHINESE UNIVERSITY SET TO HOST UNILAG SCHOLARS

The Tianjin University ( TUJ), China has invited students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to the 9th edition of the China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CIIEC) 2023.

The Chinese team, led by the Assistant President, Liu Ning, expressed eagerness to see UNILAG students participate in the competition in October 2023.

According to him, Tianjin University looks towards receiving undergraduates and postgraduates from the institution who are: outstanding young entrepreneurs, engaging in innovation, arriving to achieve their professional aspirations and building a better future for the world.

Nig said UNILAG would be the first university in Nigeria and all of Africa to be invited to compete.

Prof. Ayodele V. Atsenuwa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Developing services ) University of Lagos ( UNILAG), who represented the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folashade T. Ogunsola OON, FAS, expressed her gratitude to Asst. President Liu and other delegates of Tianjin University for honouring the institution with a visit and invitation.

Prof. Atsenuwa spoke of the University’s keen interest in innovation and entrepreneurship, noting that these areas have been strengthened on campus, especially over the past few years.

Additionally, she invited the students of Tianjin to visit the University of Lagos and learn from the University’s areas of strength.

According to the DVC, beyond the competition, this will give room for the cross-fertilization of ideas and the generation of new innovative and critical thinking among students of the two universities.
