UNILAG Opens Change-of-Course Application, Releases Alternative Courses for 2026/2027 Admission

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced its change-of-course application for the 2026/2027 UTME candidates, who did not meet the cut-off marks for their preferred programmes.

The announcement was made on the official X page of the university on Monday, September 21, 2026, urging eligible candidates to opt for alternative programmes.

The university had earlier released its merit cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 academic session, with Medicine and Surgery recording the highest cut-off mark at 83.425.

For candidates who were unable to meet the required cut-off marks, UNILAG has made provision for limited vacancies through a supplementary exercise.

The available programmes include; French, Russian, Linguistics, Igbo/Yoruba, Christian Religious Studies and Islamic Religious Studies in the Faculty of Arts, and some courses in the Faculty of Education.

Other available programmes include Botany, Fisheries and Zoology in the Faculty of Life Sciences; Physics in the Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences, as well as Geography and Meteorology and Climate Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The university noted that interested candidates can apply for the university’s change of course application at no cost, as the application would close on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Eligible candidates are therefore advised to log on to the university’s change of programme portal to complete their application.

UNILAG also urged interested candidates to carefully review the admission requirements, including JAMB and O’Level requirements, as well as the minimum Post UTME score of 12, before submitting their applications.
