The Department of Economics at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to host the 11th edition of its annual flagship event, The Expedition Conference (TEC), on Wednesday, June 4, 2026.
This year’s conference, themed “The Shift: Powering the Emerging Economy,” will take place at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium on the university’s main campus.
According to a press release, the event aims to address the rapidly evolving dynamics of the global financial ecosystem and their specific implications for emerging markets, such as Nigeria.
Organised entirely by undergraduate students of the department, the conference serves as a critical bridge between theoretical classroom economics and practical market realities, drawing academics, policymakers, and industry professionals into collaborative engagement.
According to the organisers, the 11th edition will focus on unpacking structural shifts in finance, policy, and market operations.
The schedule features high-level panel discussions and interactive sessions designed to provide participants with insights into contemporary economic trends that extend beyond standard academic curricula.
The organizers noted that the event would serve as a networking platform for students, faculty members, and guests to connect.
Attendance at the event is free, but pre-registration is mandatory.
