52nd Convocation: UNILAG announces schedule

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has released the schedule for her 52nd convocation ceremonies slated to hold from Friday, January 14th to January 21st, 2022. 

The school management disclosed this on Tuesday at a pre-convocation press conference held at the Senate Chambers in the University.

Making the announcement to members of the press, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe disclosed that the ceremonies will commence on Friday, January 14th, with a Jumat service at the University’s central mosque.

A Thanksgiving service would hold at the Chapel of Christ our Light on Sunday, January 16th at 9:30am.

Speaking further, he said, “The  convocation ceremony will officially begin  Monday,  January 17th 2022, with an  exhibition at the Senate House car park opposite J.F. Ade Ajayi’s auditorium by 10:00 am.

“The convocation lecture titled, “Building Back Better: Creating a New Framework for Tertiary education in Nigeria in the 21st century” would be delivered by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, an alumnus of the Law Faculty of the University of Lagos, by  12noon at the J.F Ade Ajayi’s auditorium”, Prof. Oluwatoyin continued.

The award of first degrees and Diplomas to students from various faculties would hold between Tuesday January 18th and Thursday January 20th, 2022.

He delightfully announced that the school would be graduating her first set of Entrepreneurship students from the Entrepreneurship centre.

Prof Ogundipe added that the convocation ceremonies will be rounded up after a luncheon on Friday at the Jelili Omotola Adebisi Hall where some of the school’s former Vice-Chancellors will be honoured by the school. 

The 52nd convocation  marks Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe’s last convocation as the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
