The Youth Conference (TYC) 2026 is set to hold on Saturday, September 26, with this year’s edition expanding the MindSHIFT concept into a six-month journey focused on inspiration, skills, mentorship and impact.
The program has been scheduled to hold at the Tayo Aderinokun Lecture Hall, University of Lagos (UNILAG).
It will be organised by the Lighted Pearl Africa Foundation, and according to the organizers, it is scheduled to commence by 9:00 am, under the theme, “Unlocking Africa’s Potential for Global Impact.”
According to the media brief, the conference targets young people between the ages of 16-30, including university students, recent graduates, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, creatives, builders, emerging leaders and young people seeking clarity, confidence, practical skills and stronger networks.
It noted that the MindSHIFT second edition programme is structured in three stages.
The first is to begin with the conference, which would focus on inspiration, confidence, clarity and exposure to new perspectives.
The brief added that the second stage is the selected participants proceeding with practical training tracks, which focuses on graphic design, content creation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), video production, fashion design, solar technology, beauty and other vocational skills.
The organizers said the programme would include mentorship, opportunities to join the alumni network, community projects and progress tracking to help participants translate their learning into measurable outcomes.
They also added that they are expecting about 2,000 young people to participate physically and virtually.
According to the organizers, registration for the conference is free but compulsory, adding that the programme is designed to go beyond motivation, but by connecting young people with practical skills and long-term development opportunities.
