Students Designs Offline Utme Past Questions App

-Soremekun Seyifunmi

Four students from the Faculty of Education, University of Lagos (UNILAG), have designed the first-ever offline application containing past questions of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

They are Agomeze Saint Chukwuemeka, Olatunji Deborah Damilola, Pius David Okachi, and Ogunniyi Opeyemi Abiola.

Their team lead was Professor Oladipo Bayo…

The app, Kinpeak UTME, is an offline e-learning and practice app built to help students prepare for the exam and score outstanding results.

When introduced to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, he praised the innovation and promised to inform the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) about the app.

The VC added that the app will help curb examination malpractice amongst students.

“The invention of this app would also reduce the number of students who go to special centers to cheat”, Professor Ogundipe said.

In the same vein, he advised that the students collaborate with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board so that their past questions can be added to the app.

The team revealed that they started the project two years ago at the commencement of virtual learning.

They said the idea was born at a competition “Ignite”, where the VC had encouraged students to venture into entrepreneurship.

The Kinspeak UTME app contains past UTME questions from the year 2000 to date, as well as the solutions.

It can only be accessed with a one-time pin contained in a scratch card available for purchase at 2000 Naira and 1500 Naira for bulk purchase.
