UNILAG Set to Hold Matriculation December 17

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to hold matriculation ceremony for its newly admitted students (UTME and Direct Entry) on Wednesday, 17 December, 2025.

In a statement by the institution’s communication unit on Friday, the ceremony will commence by 9:00 a.m. at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall, UNILAG, Akoka.

According to the university management, the event will kick-start on Thursday, 11 December, with a campus tour and a campaign on sexual harassment, drug abuse, rape, among others, at 8:00 a.m., followed by an interactive session with freshers and institution units, clubs, and associated fair at 12 noon at Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall.

On Friday,12 December, at Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall and the main library, an interactive session and guided tour of the university’s main library and institution, units, clubs, and association fair will be held at 9:00 a.m.

An interactive session will also be held on Monday,15 December, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall, followed by a novelty match at 4:00 p.m. at the sports center.

On Tuesday, 16 December, at 2:00 p.m., an entertainment programme will be held at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium.

On Wednesday, 17 December, the matriculation ceremony will hold at 9:00 a.m. at Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall. All matriculating students are expected to be seated in the hall by the start of the celebration.

As part of the programme, a special Jumat service for Muslim freshers will be held on Friday,19 December, at the UNILAG mosque.

This will be followed by a special Thanksgiving service for Christian freshmen on Sunday, 13 December, at 9:00 a.m. at the UNILAG Chapel (Chapel of Christ Our Light, UNILAG).
