The University of Lagos Students’ Union (ULSU) has advised students to wait for the release of the university’s updated 2026/2027 obligatory fee before completing the fee information section of their Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) applications.
In a statement signed by Peter Samuel Osemposi, ULSU’s Public Relations Officer, the union advised students seeking to apply for the loan to use the official NELFUND Student Loan Portal and ensure that all required documents are submitted before the deadline.
NELFUND opened applications for the 2026/2027 Student Loan Scheme on September 23, 2026, with the application window scheduled to close on December 31, 2026.
The union, however, cautioned students against entering the current fee figure in their applications, urging them to wait for the official release of UNILAG’s updated obligatory fee for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to the union, waiting for the updated fee will help students avoid submitting incorrect fee information on their NELFUND applications.
ULSU also urged students to apply on time and ensure that all required documents are submitted before the December 31 deadline.
