Big Cabal Media CEO to Speak at TEDxUNILAG

The Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, Tomiwa Aladekomo, will be speaking at the second edition of TEDxUNILAG, which will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Ayo Ajomo Auditorium, University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The organisers said the TED event, themed “Can’t Hold Us,” will bring together thinkers, innovators, creators and change-makers to share ideas and spark meaningful conversations within the university community and beyond.

In a statement on Friday, the student-led organising team secured major sponsorships and partnerships, assembled a lineup of industry leaders, and sold out the event’s early ticket tiers within 44 days.

They noted that the conference will feature discussions on leadership, innovation, technology, media, entrepreneurship, culture and creativity, with the aim of inspiring attendees to drive positive change in their communities and professional fields.

Speaking on the theme, TEDxUNILAG President, Leader Bill, said it reflects the resilience and determination of many young Africans.

“For me, it is a picture of the country we live in, and of how we, as Nigerians and as Africans, refuse to be sidelined and refuse to give up. We succeed despite,” she said.

 “The theme is a declaration. It is the affirmation that keeps every African child going.”

Reflecting on the milestone, TEDxUNILAG Vice President, Jescil Richard, said the response from attendees demonstrates a growing willingness among young people to invest in their personal and professional development.

“It feels good to give people a platform where they can prove to themselves that they are serious about their own growth and willing to invest in themselves,” she said.

The event will feature speakers including Lagu Iren; Moh Sheriff; and Gabriel Kuti, founder of Cubic Prints, among others.
