The University of Lagos Distance Learning Institute (DLI) is set to hold its 4th International Colloquium on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium, UNILAG. The event, scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., is themed “Future-Proofing Open, Flexible and Distance Learning: Balancing Innovation, Inclusion and Sustainability.”
Keynote speakers expected at the colloquium include Dr. Nicole Lotz of the Open University, United Kingdom, and Prof. Chukwuyere E. Ochonogor of the Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Abdullahi Y. Ribadu, will also feature alongside Prof. Kehinde Temitope Eniola, Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, among other panellists. The session will be chaired by Dr. Kola Adesina, Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, and moderated by Mrs. Regina Chris-Ogbedo.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folasade T. Ogunsola, will host the event, with the Director of the Distance Learning Institute, Prof. Risikat O. Dauda, playing a central role in the proceedings. The colloquium is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies that will enhance the delivery of open and distance learning in Nigeria and beyond.
