Vitapur Donates Prefabricated Building to UNILAG

Vitapur Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, has donated a prefabricated insulated building to the University of Lagos (UNILAG). This donation is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the education sector, aimed at creating better learning atmospheres. 

Speaking at the building handover ceremony, Kehinde Akintayo, Vitapur’s General Manager, emphasised the company’s commitment to contributing infrastructure that “enhances teaching and learning” in educational institutions. He further described the donated building as a testament to the company’s dedication to sustainability.

Representing the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folashade Ogunsola, at the event, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development Services), Professor Foluso Lesi, expressed his gratitude to Vitapur’s Board and Management. He also mentioned that the university was going to continue collaborations with the company.

“As a university, we prioritise manpower development and value partnerships like this one with Vitapur. We aim to co-create curricula that reflect local realities, with input from industry leaders like Vitapur to ensure our graduates are job-ready,” he said. 

Professor Lesi also recognised the major role played by the former Chairman of Vitafoam, Dr Dele Makanjuola, in initiating the project. According to him, the facility will not only offer a conducive space for learning but will also enhance teaching capabilities and strengthen connections between the university and industry, especially in workforce training units.
