The University of Lagos (UNILAG) will open its campus hostels to students in batches starting February 16 in preparation for the 2024/2025 academic session first semester exams, a reliable source disclosed to UNILAG Sun correspondents on Wednesday, January 29th.
The source who pleaded anonymity revealed that 300-level students will be the first to resume on February 16, and given time to settle in with their exams taking place shortly after. Meanwhile, 400-level students are scheduled to return on March 10 in a similar protocol.
After completing a full academic semester, 100 and 200-level students will be the last to write their exams. This is in favour of the freshmen who just completed their registration.
Further revealing details on the accommodation process, the source added that about five halls will be available for students to move into while renovations continue.
“About five or six hostels will be available for students in batches to move in,” the official added. “We have started planning bed mattresses and fumigation for these halls. Renovations will commence in other hostels as well. A revised academic calendar will also be released entailing new dates for second semester resumption.
“On the issue of balloting, accommodation will be based on application which the University management will release the procedures for shortly. Students are advised to pay for their Lag mobile to qualify for this application process.”
