By Peace Chenube

Four editors from UNILAG Sun, the official newspaper of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), have been selected as Millennium Fellows for the class of 2025. They were chosen alongside over 4000 applicants from over 290 tertiary institutions across the world.

The selected editors include Daniel Nnamani, Managing Editor, Peace Chenube, Circulation Manager, Daniel Nnam, Deputy Features Editor, and Oladipo Emmanuel, Social Media Manager. Adebisi Bolarinwa, a reporter from UNILAG Sun, was also selected.

The application process for the 2025 Millennium Fellowship saw over 60,000 applicants from more than 7,500 campuses worldwide. From this pool, just 290 campuses (roughly 4%) were chosen to host over 4,000 Millennium Fellows for this year’s Programme.

Under the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and Millennium Campus Network (MCN) initiative, the Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development programme aimed at organising and supporting university students in carrying out social impact projects that promote the core goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
