Lagos Youth Ambassador Advises Students to Embrace Digital Skills

Lagos State Youth Ambassador, Mariam Odusola, urges students to acquire necessary digital skills in order to succeed in the digital economy.

She gave this advice on November 12, 2025, as a guest speaker during the Grow With Us maiden outreach held at Eva Adelaja Girls Senior Secondary Grammar School.

Speaking on the topic “From Student to Creator,” Odusola highlighted that by 2030, over 230 million African jobs will require digital skills, emphasising the significant shift in the job market towards technology-oriented roles and competencies.

Odusola gave a comprehensive presentation on different digital skills, their importance, and ways to start them. She emphasised that learning digital skills in the fast-growing tech industry will provide numerous opportunities for young individuals.

“By embracing creativity and digital skills now, you can shape your future and influence others around you to do the same. The future belongs to those who take action today,” she stated.

She further highlighted digital safety tips while reminding the students of the need to share their aspirations, creativity, and not to forget the main thing, which is to “create”.

Odusola informed the students that initiatives like Grow With Us were free to ensure that these necessary skills could be easily acquired.

She further admonished the students to start learning immediately.
