Bode Olanipekun Donates Physiotherapy Centre to LUTH

‎Mr. Bode Olanipekun, SAN, commissioned and donated the Wole Olanipekun Physiotherapy Centre to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in honor of his father, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, on Saturday, August 26th, 2025.
‎
‎The unveiling ceremony was held at the hospital with distinguished medical practitioners, Legal Practitioners, University officials and members of the public as guests. The ceremony was one of joyful celebration as the guests praised the philanthropy of the Olanipekun’s Family.
‎
‎Chief Wole Olanipekun expressed his gratitude for the honor and also mentioned his ignorance of the project and how he was only informed about it days ago, and is pleasantly surprised by the magnitude of the project. 
‎
‎The Governor of Lagos State ,Babajide Sanwo-Olu during his speech also applauded the Olanipekun’s Family for their commitments and dedication to public service.
‎“This Centre is not just a building it is a symbol of compassion, vision, and legacy. Mr Bode Olanipekun has shown us that, honouring one’s roots can also uplift an entire community. Lagos State is proud to witness this moment, and we remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen our healthcare infrastructure”, he said.

‎The Governor also mentioned how he had to keep the news to himself since he had know about the project,while also emphasizing the importance of private public partnership to the advancement of Healthcare in Nigeria.
‎
‎The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG),Professor Folasade Ogunsola,, expressed her profound appreciation for the donation.
‎“This Centre is a bridge between law and medicine, between legacy and innovation. It will serve not only as a healing space, but also as a training ground for our students. We are grateful to the Olanipekun family, for investing in the future of physiotherapy and medical education.”

‎The Chief Medical Director of LUTH, Professor Wasiu Lanre Adeyemo described the project as transformative and innovative
‎“Today, we celebrate not just a gift, but a vision. The Wole Olanipekun Physiotherapy Centre, is a testament to what is possible when leadership meets compassion. It will significantly boost our rehabilitation services, and support our mission to deliver world-class care.”

‎Bode Olanipekun SAN described the project as “a gift of healing in the name of a man who has spent his life uplifting others”. He thanked and credited his wife Tolu, for the success of the project, members of his family, his friends, especially Governor Sanwo-Olu for putting up with him.
‎
This donation serves as a monument in the Olanipekun’s family as it will continue to be a beacon of excellence to the hospital and the community as a whole.
